The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is mulling to add two more teams to the Indian Premier League (IPL). Going by the agenda of the board's AGM, which take place on December 24, the official announcement regarding it would be made later this month. Should two teams be added to the league, it will be for the first time since 2011 that IPL will be a 10-team competition. IPL had started as an 8-team competition. In 2011, 10 teams took part in the tournament. The number reduced to 9 for the next two years. IPL has remained 8-team tournament since 2014.
