IPL Schedule 2021- 14th edition will be held only after April 10 :  BCCI is yet to announce the dates for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 14th edition. However, the latest England tour of India schedule has given a hint of when it IPL 2021 can start from. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday announced the dates for India’s four-Test, five T20I and three ODI series against England. The two-month-long series begins from February 5 in Chennai for the first Test. The longest-format of the game ends on March 8. 10 teams will be divided into two groups - New format of IPL from 2021 season

The Board of Control for Cricket in India  (BCCI)  is all set to approve the addition of two new teams in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The approval will reportedly be given in the Annual General Meeting of the board scheduled to take place on December 24. Earlier, it was reported that only one team will be added ahead of the next season while the 10th franchise will be added the following season. However, the franchises were reportedly not happy with this as two mega auctions would’ve taken place in that case. Meanwhile, the addition of two new teams will now bring a spate of changes to the next IPL season. What will be the format for IPL 2021? Cur...

Fantasy Gamers’ E-Spends May Hit $1bn

The online fantasy gaming market is set to explode with the upcoming season of  the Indian Premier League  (IPL), with industry players and analysts expecting fans to spend $1-1.5 billion (Rs 7,000-10,000 crore) to predict the performance of players. Platforms like  Dream11 ,  My11Circle  and HalaPlay - besides more recent entrants like Paytm and  Mobile Premier League  (MPL) - are competing to attract users as cricket makes a comeback after over six months. What is expected to drive growth is the pent-up demand among consumers locked up at home and deprived of entertainment like movies and live sports ever since the Covid-19 pandemic started in March. This, along with hundreds of crores in marketing expenditure by fantasy gaming platforms, including market leader Dream11 winning the title sponsorship of IPL for Rs 222 crore last month, is expected to further increase interest in the market. The number of consumers on  fantasy sports plat...

Three-time   Indian Premier League  champions Chennai Super Kings held a five-day training camp in Chennai earlier this month before the squad travelled to UAE for the upcoming season of the tournament. No other franchise held a camp like this, and in a recent interaction, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan revealed how CSK captain   MS Dhoni   convinced him to go ahead with the camp. “When we announced the tournament is going to happen, I had reservations about conducting the camp here because the bio-bubble had to be created. In fact sent a message to him (asking) whether it will be worthwhile having a camp for 5 days before going to Dubai. But the captain was crystal clear in his thoughts,” Viswanathan said in a video uploaded on YouTube by CSK.  “He (Dhoni) said ‘sir, we have not played for nearly 4-5 months. All of us need to get together in Chennai. We should be in a bio-bubble in Chennai so that we get used to that when we land in Dubai’. “And also it helped in the...
