IPL 2021: 14th edition of the Indian Premier League will be held only after April 10

IPL Schedule 2021- 14th edition will be held only after April 10 : BCCI is yet to announce the dates for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 14th edition. However, the latest England tour of India schedule has given a hint of when it IPL 2021 can start from.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday announced the dates for India’s four-Test, five T20I and three ODI series against England. The two-month-long series begins from February 5 in Chennai for the first Test. The longest-format of the game ends on March 8.

It will be followed by T20I series which is scheduled from March 12 to 20. Following this, India and England play the ODI series which ends on March 28.

After this long and hectic series, it is likely that the players would want a break before joining their respective IPL franchises for IPL 2021.

A 10-day break for the players would help them rejuvenate and get ready for the new IPL season. It will not be a shocker if IPL begins from the second week. Taking the previous editions into account, IPL has always more or less started in the second week of April.

BCCI will most likely decide to host the new edition after April 10. It would give the players some time to gel up with their supposedly new team members, if the proposed mega-auction takes place.

Interestingly, the Indian cricket board is planning to introduce two new teams for the new season. A final decision on it will be taken on December 24.

IPL 2021 New Team: BCCI AGM to take final decision, Ahmedabad almost certain to be the new franchise

IPL 2021 New Team – In case BCCI AGM egress to introduction of new IPL teams from IPL 2021, Ahmedabad city is almost certain to be included in the IPL franchise city list.

The proposal to increase two teams for the Indian Premier League 2021 (IPL 2021) will be formally floated for the approval of the house in the AGM on Dec 24th. An approval will be taken from the representatives of all the state associations for the inclusion of two new teams in the said meeting on Dec. 24th.

According to the information available with InsideSport, one thing is certain now that Ahmedabad city will be included in the IPL roaster before anyone else. The names of Lucknow / Kanpur, Pune will come for discussion if the BCCI AGM decides to increase more than 1 team for IPL 2021 or IPL 2022.

In case BCCI AGM decides to postpone the proposal for the new teams for the IPL 2022, still Ahmedabad will be the first city that gets included in the IPL roaster.
